along with some helpful answers.

  • What does Ottermise do?
    We aim to bridge the gap between the professionals and the consumers. We adopt a matrix process that rates our users’ insurance portfolios and optimise them without additional commitments, thereby allowing our users to save more monies. With everything going digital, we plan to use technology and data to change the game. By bringing the tools online, we aim to save time for the busy Singaporeans who are too caught up with the hustle and bustle of life to meet up with an advisor for financial consultation. Insurance payout often goes unclaimed for reasons, with ignorance being the key culprit. We hope to revolutionise the insurance ecosystem by enabling users to share their insurance portfolios with those closest to them, thereby reducing confusion and turmoil when tragedy strikes.
  • I have a personal finance question. Where can I seek advice from?
    Feel free to contact us directly, or fill up the contact form at the bottom of the page and our team of experts will get back to you within 2 - 3 working days.
  • Is my profile public?
    Not at all! Your profile is private and only you & the advisor can see it.
  • How can I reset my password?
    If you’ve forgotten your password or would like to change it, tap the Forgot Password linkon the login page of your mobile app or web app to send a password reset email to the given email address. If you don’t see this email in your inbox, please check your spam folder or any other email addresses you may have. If you believe you had incorrectly entered your email address at signup, submit an enquiry to change your email address. Note that if you registered using your Facebook/Google account, you'll need to sign in by clicking the Sign In with Facebook/Google button, instead of manually entering a username and password.
  • How secure and private is Ottermise?
    There are multiple layers of protection. Technology (1) Our servers are house on AWS, they have their own security features that we make use of, eg. we set up security groups in the server to only expose required ports to the internet; and all data stored are encrypted and communication between app and server are encrypted with https (2) We also make use of a secure framework, Laravel. The Laravel framework we have chosen will automatically protect us from top 3 major security breaches (SQL injection, cross site request forgery, cross site scripting) that hacker uses when they want to go into the system. Manual (1) All accounts are encrypted with 2FA, which adds on another layer of security for the users. Our 2FA system is generated via an app called Google Authenticator.
  • Who has access to my data?
    We will not sell your Personal Data to any third parties. There may be instances however that we will need to share your Personal Data to certain suppliers, agents or service providers that assist us or that we use for optimising, monitoring or researching the usage, performance and operation of Ottermise as well as the services we provide through Ottermise. We only share your Personal Data with such third parties in so far as necessary to perform their services and tasks and we will ensure that these third parties protect your Personal Data in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and will not use your Personal Data for any other purposes than those specified by us.
